BRILLIANT!

hidden charges, drunken louts, missing dialog, rain, dodgy servers, mutiny, crabs in a basket, incompetence, kippers, non-schedules, seagulls ... they're all BRILLIANT

Last of the Summer Festivals
Me and Emerald...... even at the height of summer in the Isle of Man you still need hats and gloves in the middle of the Island after dark......
One of many smiley photos taken at the Chaz Fest in Sulby last weekend. Good music and good company........ just like my weekend before...
OK, enough with the hats.......

The Circle

This weekend, Dave, Bao, and myself where lucky enough to catch a ride with our good friend Sammy and her friend, Ilse to an ancient stone circle near St. Luke's. The circle used to be the original site of Tynwald back in 1428.

What Really Happened...
SILVERBURN GLENN
Yet another fabulous walkie was had by Myself and Cathy in Ballasalla. Nice walking trail and lots of old time history.

such a quaint bustling little village

when they aren't being eaten, ducks got it made

Me on the monks bridge. I think they started building it in 1134

I don't know much about monk bridges but this one was brilliant

this could have been taken in heartland America, but homeland security thankfully prevents such trespasses nowadays

how about that, a big fat farm right by the beach.sweet

When Stars Collide!

Just got back from watching The Coral perform. I have to admit, I never heard of them and took a chance at seeing them without really knowing any of their songs. Judging from the audience turn out, they have a pretty nice following. The night started off with a pleasant surprise. We got to see some familiar faces come on stage! Yep the boys of Truman Falls opened for Coral. Very cool to see and hear them in a larger venue. They sounded F---in' cool! Listening to them shot back memories of when we first arrived on the island. Back then, Emma took us out to the Office to see her friends perform, and I must say, I liked them so much, I bought the CD right then and there. Well, I intended on buying it. But somehow, Emma got it for me for free. Signed, even! Tonight I got a t-shirt and paid for it myself.

FARM FACES PT.3
This is the buffest damn cow ever!

And this was his behemoth spotted cousin.

Chicks are funny.

These are the local sheep - Laughton sheep... Devil sheep I say. I guess the higher priests within their dark circus can actually grow 6 horns.

The rare Rabbi-sheep. Because, yes he is Jewish, and a perfect blend of rabbit and sheep.

My local fav-0-rite! The shire horse.

Something wrong with all the dogs here though.

Stonehenge!

Had a wonderful visit with me long-time mate and his wife in London. They showed me all around town. One stop was Stonehenge. We traveled though a harsh rainstorm and raced the sun to get there. Once we got in line or the que, there was a fellow American at the ticket window suppossedly buying tickets to get in. Now the place is about to close for a special group of people who got permission to go inside the henge and watch the sunset. After what seemed like an eternaty or close to it, the young lady with an American accent leaves the que! She wasn't even going to buy a ticket? What the--?! Typical. In any case we get up to the window and the sales person says, "You're students, yeah?" I'm like, no. She clears thoat and nods very slowly, "you are students, yes." "Oh, yes. Yes we are!" We dash through the gate and run all the way around the henge with cameras a blazin'. Then we stood there and just gazed at it. The sun went down casting long shadows over the green. Nice one!

PERSPECTIVE
Soooo... maybe things aren't so bad here.

August 16, 2005—Speeding from the scene of the crime, a Chinese boy tows a floating plastic bag of stolen natural gas last week. Flouting a government ban, farmers around the central Chinese town of Pucheng frequently filch gas from the local oil field.
Nothing like a little perspective to humble the old bitch-bone.

THE BIG SHOW
We took a wonder up yonder to the big Manx Agri-show. Hoo-wee nuthin like good ol farm fun. It was actually a nice enjoyable, dare I say it, "all-american" sort of day out. I swear I heard Springsteen songs off in the distance somewhere.

Only $8.50 to get in, shoot, gladly!

Farm people are good damn people.

Country roads - take me home!

This northern end of the island has quite spectacular scenery. This is in the village of Sulby.

Now we're talking - the Tractor Train.
More to come but right now I gotta go finish my Prisoner marathon. Episode 10 where Patrick McGoohan tries to escape by impersonating Ethel Merman upon a communist merchant marine ship that pulls into port.

I DUNNO PT2
Now I'm just posting non-sequitor images and I don't know why!

Hey, I could have posted a photo of the "Crazy Frog" but I didn't. This was from inside the Castle in Castletown.

RETURN OF DAN THE MAN
We went to the Office last week to cheer on our local celeb Dan W. He did a lovely set, and even dedicated a birthday song to a complete stranger. He's got all the moves.

Good Bye from the Cruz Family!

Well it's been a blast having my family here and meeting my IOM family. Everyone has been great from offering to help watch the kids while the Mrs. and I have some overdue alone time, allowing us to tag along to several outings around the island, and well, just being very supportive. So thanks to you all, my wife and children enjoyed your company and generosity so very much.
