What the Bleep Do We (k)now!?
Well, it's well past the half way mark for me on this project and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the so-called tunnel. Now that I have my end date, I'm going to explore the island more. In fact, with my family visiting from L.A. we have done quite a bit. We've gone to Peel three times, visited Castletown, Snaefell mountain, Ramsey, Port Erin, Ballasalla, St. John's... and there is still much more to see. We've met some great people along the way. I ran into a fellow from Norway who was here on a visit to see the island again. Last time he was here was about 15 years ago and he says there have been many changes. The island seems to be growing in population. The Prom in Douglas has lost a whole block of hotels and sadly it doesn't look quite the same. He thought that the Victorian buildings should be better preserved along the Loch. Any way, I couldn't help but wonder how much the Prom that I walk up and down every day will look in a few years. I imagine myself coming back, most definitely! I hope it doesn't change much. I do know that I will miss the people more so than the buildings, though. Maybe I'll actually go out and see the TT race next time.
So, you know I don't think that the blog is going to hell. It's just a watered down version of what is actually happening to us- our experiences here. I don't think it's supposed to be just a travel brochure but rather a record of what we do and... I wish we would talk about the work that we do and the every day struggles of setting up an animation studio out in the middle of the Irish Sea. So I think it's great seeing socks and bunnies because that's what that particular person felt like putting up that day. But what the ---- do I know?
